HE the Minister of Culture and Sports Salah bin Ghanem bin Nasser al-Ali said yesterday that the attendance of His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani at the final day of Qatar Grand Prix, the opening round of MotoGP 2018, was a success for the event and a message of support to all competitions organised by Qatar. The minister said in a press statement that this year’s Grand Prix was a thriller and the perfect way to kick-off the season, pointing to the nail-biting competition between Andrea Dovizioso and Mark Marquez which went all the way.

He also highlighted that the Moto2 and Moto3 competitions were just as exciting this year. HE the Minister of Culture and Sports also paid tribute to Losail International Circuit, saying it proved once again that it is one of the best circuits in terms of safety worldwide. He stressed that the opening round of MotoGP affirmed this year Qatar’s international reputation of hosting distinguished sporting events. He praised in particular the attendance levels from spectators, saying that the excitement of the event added to the entertainment of the fans.
