Doha Bank CEO awarded ‘Best Manager of the Year’

Doha Bank wins 2 global awards. Doha Bank has received the ‘Best Regional Enterprise’ and the ‘Best Manager of Year for Excellence in Quality in Banking’ awards during the ‘International Conference: Excellence in Quality’ event held recently in Luzern, Switzerland. Doha Bank CEO Dr R Seetharaman, who was awarded ‘Best Manager of the Year’, received the awards during the event.

“It is a great privilege to receive these awards. These awards are testament to Doha Bank’s excellent business reputation, effective management, and sustainable performance. Doha Bank has always been at the forefront of implementation of quality management measures in its day-to-day operations, which reflects in its strong performance over the years.
“By targeting the best practices that position our business to qualify for awards, we have optimised our company’s performance and established a culture of achievement that promotes sustainable growth,” Seetharaman said.

Doha Bank was chosen having been ranked against various criteria like investment attraction, high technologies and quality, professional staff, and modern management methods. The research was conducted by the analytical centres of the Socrates Nomination Committee (Oxford, the UK) with the aim of selecting successful, dynamic companies to join the international business community and benefit from their special support and investment promotion.
Some of the key quality management measures of Doha Bank include being the first bank in Qatar to achieve accredited certification for ISO 9001:2015, the newly-revised international standards for Quality management systems, as well as becoming the first organisation in the GCC to achieve the ISO/IEC 20000 certification in 2007.
Doha Bank believes in providing innovative offerings to its customers through digital technology, which will also contribute to sustainable performance of bank. The award is a reflection of Doha Bank’s leadership on sustainable growth path, it said.
Doha Bank’s quality management focuses on three areas, ‘customer centricity and consistency’, ‘culture of innovation and entrepreneurialism’, and ‘implementing, execution, and testing of innovations’.  Doha Bank introduced many ‘firsts in Qatar’ like the Doha Bank Mybook Qatar application, biometric authentication in mobile banking, Apple iWatch Banking application, Al Asriya Ladies Banking Package, Al Dana Savings Scheme, and online money transfer through credit card, among others. The awards recognise some of the key strengths of Doha Bank such as being one of the largest and Domestic Systemically Important Banks (DSIB) in Qatar. It has been consistently registering a strong growth during the last decade with a participative leadership philosophy.
