The 2014 FIFA World Cup trophy made its first stop at the premises of the Qatar Football Association (QFA) Technical Committee, after its arrival yesterday morning.
The Under-13 teams that are competing in the QFA U-13 League eagerly waited in line and had the opportunity to see the iconic trophy and take pictures with it.
“We are very happy that the trophy is visiting the QFA Technical Committee. This acts as an inspiration for you to develop and progress for the future. Giving you the opportunity to see the trophy from a close distance is a way to inspire you because one day you will be playing in the FIFA World Cup 2022.
“Therefore, you must be motivated to play your best and hopefully one day win and bring back the trophy to your country,” said Antoine Tayyar, Public Affairs & Communications Director, Coca-Cola Middle East.
Salem al-Marri, Administration Development Supervisor of QFA Technical Committee, added: “We’re extremely happy to welcome the iconic trophy and be part of the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola.
“The visit to the QFA Technical Committee for the U-13 League will act as a motivation for our young players, and will further their passion for the beautiful game. Giving them the opportunity to witness and be part of this influential moment will inspire and will have a direct impact on their development and progress in football.
“The development of our youth players is crucial as these are the players that will carry the legacy and go one to become a part of the National team that will play in the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar.”
