POWERGLOBE has successfully delivered large-scale LNG cargo to Marmara Terminal

POWERGLOBE announced its delivery of a large single cargo of liquefied natural gas (LNG) with a large-scale tanker ‘’MARAN GAS SPARTA’’ to Turkey’s Marmara Ereğlisi LNG Terminal. The tanker, carrying 160,000 cubic meters of LNG, arrived at the LNG terminal on 3rd May and has been discharge very successfully on 4th May.

The Marmara LNG terminal was originally designed to accommodate conventional size vessels and recently went through upgrades to accommodate both Q-Flex and Q-Max vessels. The terminal is owned by the state-owned Petroleum Pipeline Company (BOTAŞ). Mediterranean and Adriatic region is an ideal place for delivering LNG cargoes and divert quantities between the Greek terminal of Revithoussa, four Turkish onshore and offshore terminals and the terminals in Malta and Italy.

POWERGLOBE’s LNG director, stated that ‘’despite the current turmoil in the world related to the coronavirus pandemic, LNG supply will flow to Turkey as planned and without any disruptions, as BOTAS is one of the major LNG consumers in Turkey. POWERGLOBE is pleased to continue to reliably deliver LNG to BOTAS Petroleum Pipeline Corporation, as they are committed to the goal of providing a secure source of LNG for Turkey, now and in the future’’.
