Qatar ExxonMobil Open 2014 Draw Ceremony was held at the Four Seasons yesterday. On hand were Bart Cahir, President & General Manager ExxonMobil Qatar Inc.; Qatar; H.E. Nasser Bin Ghanim Al Khelaifi, Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee; Karim Alami, Tournament Director; Yousef Al Obaidly, Secretary General; and Tariq Darwish Zainal, Asst. Secretary General of the QTF.
Players in attendance were Philipp Kohlschreiber, Ernests Gulbis, Fernando Verdasco, and Lukas Rosol.
The tournament thanked sponsors: ExxonMobil Qatar, Es’hailSat, 51 East, Qatar Duty Free, Qatar Airways, Al Fardan Automobiles, Aspetar andRolex.
Tournament Representatives, Ashraf Hamouda and Miro Bratoev, was there to conduct the actual draw. Media and sponsors were invited to pick names from a bowl to see which player would be placed in specific locations in the draw.
Tournament Director, Karim Alami, spoke of this year’s draw ceremony “It is wonderful to see players, sponsors and the press come to join us as we kick off the Qatar ExxonMobil Open 2014 with this draw ceremony. It is an incredibly impressive field with the caliber of players that are here inDoha this week. We look forward to very competitive matches.”

Tournament marks 20th consecutive year for ExxonMobil Qatar and Qatar Tennis Federation’s partnership
Doha, Qatar – Qatar Tennis Federation announced ExxonMobil Qatar’s title sponsorship of the Qatar ExxonMobil Open 2014 at a press conference in Doha yesterday. This marks the 20th consecutive year of the company’s support for this event. The tournament, which has become a globally renowned event on the international tennis circuit, will be held at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha between December 30, 2013 and January 4, 2014.
As in previous years, the tournament continues to attract the world’s top players, who will travel to Doha to participate in the first ATP World Tour event of the year. The Qatar ExxonMobil Open 2014 boasts a star-studded line up of 25 players, including world No. 1 Rafael Nadal, world No. 3 David Ferrer, world No. 4 Andy Murray, world No. 7 Tomas Berdych, and defending champion world No. 9 Richard Gasquet, among others. Tickets for the six-day event are available to the public online at www.qatartennis.org and at various locations across Doha.
H.E. Nasser Bin Ghanim Al Khelaifi, Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee, expressed his enthusiasm at ExxonMobil Qatar’s continuous support for the tournament, and spoke of the company’s contributions to the Qatar ExxonMobil Open across the span of twenty years, as well as to other tennis tournaments organized by QTF.
“Qatar Tennis Federation and ExxonMobil Qatar have now been partners on the Qatar ExxonMobil Open for 20 consecutive years, and we are enormously proud of this,” he said. “Our partnership with ExxonMobil Qatar is a key enabler for QTF to organize a high quality event for all in attendance, and to
continue to define Qatar as a globally renowned and vibrant center for world-class sporting events,” he added.

The tournament will also feature several off-court events, such as the Public Village, VIP Village, player autograph sessions in the ExxonMobil Qatar stand, a traditional souq, a kid’s zone, and various merchandising booths. ExxonMobil Qatar staff will also provide several engaging and interactive educational and cultural activities at the company stand, appealing to the tournament’s young visitors.
ExxonMobil Qatar also extended its support for the ExxonMobil Qatar Youth Nationals tournament for the fourth year running, in cooperation with the Qatar Tennis Federation. Held from October 28 – 30, 2013, the tournament included 78 Qatari boys and girls of various ages. This particular sponsorship comes as part of ExxonMobil Qatar’s commitment to support and develop future Qatari tennis champions, while encouraging an interest in sports towards promoting healthy and active lifestyles among youth.
