Qatar wins bid to host Asian Games 2030

Qatar has been named the host nation of the Asian Games 2030, beating rival Saudi Arabia in the bidding race.

Qatar received the majority of the votes at 39th OCA General Assembly that took place in Oman today.

This will be the second time the country will host the Asian Games, first held in Qatar in 2006. The mega sporting event stimulated the country’s impressive growth and development in the field of sports.

The Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) had submitted its intention to bid for the 2030 Asian Games earlier this year.

The slogan and logo for the 2030 Asian Games was unveiled in September. The slogan of the Doha 2030 Asian Games is ”Your Gateway.”

In November, Doha 2030 Asian Games Bid Committee also welcomed members of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) Evaluation Committee to Doha to show the capital’s Games readiness and commitment to serving as a gateway to legacy now for Asia.

Earlier this week, His Excellency Sheikh Joaan also opened the Doha Majlis in the Omani capital of Muscat to showcase special features of the Doha 2030 bid.

In recent years, Qatar has worked above and beyond to cement its position as an unparalleled sporting hub in the region.

The country has hosted several prestigious international and regional sporting events and welcomed thousands of athletes, fans and representatives of sporting bodies.

With less than two years to go until Qatar stages the biggest football tournament in the world, and a first for the Arab region, the FIFA World Cup 2022, the country has established world-class sporting facilities and venues set to provide fans with an unmatched experience.
