Heathrow Airport, used by 82 airlines serving 180 destinations in 85 countries and handling an average of 191,200 passengers per day, is a prime retail location. Now, passengers using Terminal 2 can enjoy a new luxury shopping experience courtesy of the famous Harrods store.
From this month, travellers can browse through the superb range of watches on sale at The Harrods Fine Watch Room. This luxurious1,700 sq ft retail space, located in the Terminal 2 Departures Lounge, takes its inspiration from the Fine Watch Room at Harrods store in Knightsbridge, with displays designed by the store’s fine watch buying team.
The striking egg-shaped glass exterior of the Fine Watch Room is accented with floor to ceiling display cases with black and gold metallic finishes.
The look is contemporary and masculine with black granite entrances, mosaic pathways of limestone with golden accents and a parquet floor. Crystal chandeliers shimmer above the display cabinets which hold leading brands such as Montblanc, Longines, Rado, Baume & Mercier, Tag Heuer, Zenith, Maurice Lacroix, Frederic Constant, Omega, Tudor (launching in September), Jaeger-LeCoultre, IWC, Chanel, Hublot and Chopard.
There are discreet consultation spaces with half height screens to give customers privacy and access to expert advice when selecting their luxury timepieces. Over 30 brands will be on sale at a range of prices to suit all tastes.
Jason Broderick, fashion director of Menswear, Fine Watches and Sports, Harrods, said: “The launch of The Harrods Fine Watch Room at Heathrow Terminal 2 is a testament to the success of the Fine Watch Room at Harrods and our exceptional in-house fine watch buying team. This expansion will deliver the ultimate in Fine Watch travel retail, enabling Harrods to reach new clients with the finest selection of timepieces.” Source: Gulf Times
