HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani held on Monday at the Emiri Diwan a round of official talks with President of the Republic of Serbia Tomislav Nikolic.
The talks reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries and means of boosting and developing them, particularly in the fields of trade, investment, culture and agriculture, and discussed a set of regional and international issues of common concern, especially developments in the Middle East. After the session, HH the Emir and the Serbian president witnessed the signing of a number of agreements and memoranda of understanding between the two countries.
The signed documents included an agreement on the motivation and protection of mutual investments between the governments of the State of Qatar and the Republic of Serbia, a draft memorandum of understanding in the field of youth and sports between the governments of the State of Qatar and the Republic of Serbia, a cooperation agreement in the cultural field between the governments of the State of Qatar and the Republic of Serbia, and a draft memorandum of understanding in the field of agriculture between the State of Qatar’s Ministry of Municipality and Environment and the Republic of Serbia’s Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection.
A number of Their Excellencies ministers attended the talks. Members of the official delegation accompanying the president were also present from the Serbian side. The Serbian president had arrived earlier at the Emiri Diwan where an official reception ceremony was held for him.
