Qatar Petroleum (QP) and several of its joint ventures and subsidiaries have a strong presence at the 21st World Petroleum Congress (WPC) now being held in Moscow.
The key event is being held in the Russian capital until June 19.
HE the Minister of Energy and Industry Dr Mohamed bin Saleh al-Sada delivered speeches during two separate activities of the event held at the State Kremlin Palace.
The other speakers were Deputy Prime Minister for Energy of the Russian Federation Arkady Dvorkovich, World Petroleum Council president Dr Renato Bertani, and WPC Russian National Committee chairman Vladimir Evtushenkov.
Al-Sada also attended the opening plenary and the inauguration of the exhibition, which was held yesterday at the Crocus Expo International Exhibition Centre.
The minister and other VIPs then visited the QP pavilion, which also includes the exhibition booths of Qatargas Operating Company Limited, RasGas Company Limited, Qatar Petrochemical Company, and Oryx GTL Limited.
With an area measuring 450sq m, the QP pavilion showcased the company’s operations and its subsidiaries as well as joint ventures. It also highlighted QP’s 40th anniversary this year.
Also, Qatar’s oil and gas industry was represented in the 21st WPC Technical Programme.
Officials from RasGas, Oryx GTL, and Qatar Shell will be presenting papers during the event, including eight poster presentations from QP, Qatargas, RasGas, and Oryx GTL. A large number of employees from QP and other oil and gas companies in Qatar were also present as delegates.
With the theme “Responsibly Energising a Growing World,” the 21st WPC has attracted the participation of thousands of delegates from all over the world and more than 600 exhibiting companies from some countries worldwide.
