Saudi Arabia hits out at ‘false’ reports state TV blurred image of Michelle Obama.

The Saudi Arabian Embassy in Washington has hit out at false reports claiming Saudi state television blurred out images of Michelle Obama as she visited Riyadh with her husband to met with new Saudi king Salman Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud.

While some Saudi social media users criticised the US First Lady for not wearing a headscarf or covering her head, a video appeared on Youtube claiming her image had been blurred as she accompanied President Barack Obama on his visit to the Saudi capital.

While officials in Riyadh did not comment on the allegations, officials at the Saudi Arabian Embassy in Washington D.C. hit out at Bloomberg’s reporter Josh Rogin after he mentioned it in a report.

In a statement issued to Bloomberg, the embassy’s information director said: “Saudi TV has been showing the total arrival ceremony at the airport and at the Palace and nowhere is anything blurred.”
