Qatar sells QR5.58bn of govt bonds, focuses on long end of curve Reuters. Qatar’s central bank said yesterday it had sold 5.575bn riyals ($1.53bn) of domestic bonds, with issuance heavily focused on the long end of the yield curve.
It sold 150mn riyals of three-year bonds at a yield of 2.75%, 800mn riyals of five-year at 3.35%, 1.7bn riyals of seven-year at 4.0%, and 2.925bn riyals of 10-year at 4.5%.
Liquidity at the short end of Qatar’s money markets has been squeezed by low oil and gas prices, strong loan growth and US interest rate hikes in recent months.
