AMACO and KSA share common energy vision

His Excellency DR SAAD ALAMMAR (Ambassador of Saudi Arabia in Athens) and NADIR GUERER (Chairman of AMACO) share join vision and strategic plan for energy security, sustainability, and diversification, applying the most efficient and technologically advanced solutions.

Europe is keen to expand its cooperation with Saudi Arabia in the energy sector as the world increasingly shifts toward green energy. EU possesses significant expertise in the green energy sector, which could help accelerate Saudi Arabia’s clean energy transition In addition, Saudi Arabia, with its ambitious initiatives such as the world’s largest green hydrogen plant in NEOM, is leading the energy transition in the region, aiming for net-zero emissions by 2060.

Concerning the AMACO’s vision, the company plans to deliver reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy to society, while striving to significantly reduce emissions across our operations and actively pursuing low-carbon business innovations and services.  It holds an energy plan for Southeastern Europe, based on a cooperation agreement signed in 2024 in Chisinau, Moldova, delivering a total 1.0 million tones of LNG (equal to 1.3 billion cubic meters of normal natural gas) across the vertical Corridor, including Moldova and Ukraine. The natural gas supply-agreement starts from March 2025.

Saudi Arabia can play an important role across the energy supply for Europe, as currently holds a very diversified LNG portfolio.
